Sometimes, just watching others around you is the best free entertainment there is, and sometimes you catch someone doing something that really captures your attention.  This was the case earlier this month with me.  I was chatting with my oldest daughter, one day, and we decided to have a family picnic/get-together at Rogers Park off of Shoal Line Rd.  We decided to each bring some family favorite foods, like homeade potoato salad, and fried chicken. The date came, and we met up, each bringing our designated item, and coolers. We all unpacked, everyone grabbed a plate, and we all dug in.  The food was delicious!  I actually had never been there before, although we'd driven by it zillions of times (funny how that happens). I took my camera, and decide to walk around a bit and explore, because you never know what you might see.  :)  I watched couples paddling by in their canoes. I watched kids, and adults playing in the water. I watched cooks grilling lunch for their clans.  I watched people across the water at "The Upper Deck" watching me.   :)   Then I spotted him....the fearless youngman, poised on the branch, high up in the tree.  I did notice a group of kids swimming to the other side of the river just a bit earlier, but didn't hink much of it...now I knew why they did.  I decided this was a "kodak moment", and waited.  It was only moments before he took the leap.  I prayed for his safey (and hoped it was deep enough for the young daredevil)  as he splashed into the water below.  The jumper sufaced and immediently looked at his forearm, and rubbed it.  That seemed to be his only souvenior wound...thank God!!  The stunt reminded me of my youth, and some of the stupid things I tried, and survived....I think we all have.  We all enjoyed our day at a local swimming hole, watching people just having fun...hopefully we we won't witness someone taking such a big risk next time.

With a playlist at each table, the dancers…
